Graduate Assistant Position
for ADPICAS Project
Graduate Research Assistantship, Department of Mechanical Engineering,
College of Engineering, University of Hawai’i at Manoa, full-time,
extramural funds, to begin as Master’s/Ph.D. students. The
funding will be given for one year, and its continuation will depend
on the satisfactory performances of the assigned duties. Research
Area: Participate in developing Active Composite Struts and Active
Composite Panels including design, analysis, fabrication, and testing
of active vibration suppression and precision positioning, integration
of various modules including sensors and actuator modules of the
project, and development of technical reports and research papers.
Desired Background: knowledge of vibration theories, programming
and engineering software experience, experimental experience with
hardware electronics (sensors and actuators such as piezoelectrics
and fiber optics; precision controls, precision positioning and
vibration suppression). Minimum Monthly Stipend: $1,250. To apply:
